Barack Obama will be our 44th President.
I don’t have the right words to express the enormity of last night’s election of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States. I’m thrilled, awed, and relieved. And hopeful.
Today, I will uncritically allow the good feelings to flow.
Tomorrow, perhaps, I’ll begin the necessary process of taking a step back. I hope that Obama will be a great President. Certainly we’ve taken a big step forward in electing him, and decisively. But the next step is really the important one: we need to stay vigilant, be willing to appropriately praise and criticize, and respectfully demand that our leaders work for us.
One man, no matter how inspiring, is not the solution. We are the solution.

Amen to that.
